Now more details has emmerged. Authorities at the the Harlem 's High School for Math, Science and Engineering were Omotayo attends claim she was caught cheating at a test. She was caught looking at her phone during a German exam on Thursday. Her teacher, Eva Malikova, told reporters she scolded her with the words:
"Oh, you shouldn't be cheating! You guys shouldn't be cheating! You guys are lying to yourselves!"
At this Malikova reported that Adeoye broke down in tears and began apologizing. However Malikova continued to scold her, saying:
"That's not a sincere apology!"
That's when law enforcement officials say Adeoye wrote a note on the exam sheet saying:
"I just want to go away forever on the bottom of the river."
Adeoye then proceeded to ask for permission to use the bathroom and never returned to class. She was afterwards seen walking to the edge of the Hudson River by eyewitnesses. Divers are still searching for her remains... So saddening.
